Recently, Sigma introduced their new 70-300 mm zoom lens with f/4-5.6 apertures. The new Sigma lens will available for Canon , Sony, Pentax, Nikon and Sigma mounts. The feature this 70-300mm lens boast is their OS function, that when activated, it will shifts the element inside the lens to compensate the camera shake. This stabilization function hopefully will greatly help the users when they feel like taking pictures in a low light scene and use slower shutter speed.

Canon and Nikon DSLRs who didn’t offer any in-body image stabilization feature can’t apply the OS function in this Sigma lens without any adjustment. However, for Sony and Pentax DSLR camera that have in-body stabilizing systems that shift their image sensor to compensate camera shakes, the users need to turn off that features first and let the OS features in the Sigma lens do the stabilizing work.
This DSLR lens also designed with a premium multi coating treatment to reduce flare, ghosting and Special Low Dispersion glass element in order to minimize colour aberration when taking shots. This new Sigma 70-300mm lens that offers the benefits similar to Canon’s IS and Nikon VR is listed with the price of $600.
