Fujifilm Finepix F80EXR Review

May 10th, 2010 | by CameraBang |

Fujifilm seems to embed many of their latest technology into the Fujifilm Finepix F80EXR, the third camera bearing EXR name. This 12 megapixel Fujifilm Finepix has a 10x optical zoom lens with 27mm wide-angle lens and 0.5 inch Super CCD sensor. The other good point of F80EXR are their 720p HD video recording ability and a set of manual controls enabled in it.

Fujifilm Finepix F80EXR Review Test

The EXR sensor developed by Fujifilm really tried to tackle the Resolution, Dynamic Range and Low Light problems that have been weak points of several camera. Unfortunately, to use the most of EXR camera advantages, the image resolution have to be compromised.

Fujifilm F80 EXR menu control might be going to drive you crazy sometime since they tend to disappear after 2 seconds, so you have to make your choice quickly when doing your F80EXR settings. Fortunately the preview screen this EXR camera had got good viewing angle. Maximum ISO that can be handled with this Finepix camera were pretty high (12,800 in small resolution), having Aperture range of f/3.3 and f/9.0.

Fujifilm Finepix F80EXR Still Image Quality is pretty decent. But if you already had a F200EXR in your posession, you might get a little disappointed with F80 EXR performance since they bring more noise into the images. But I do feel that previewing my photo shot through this camera is a  little better than its predecessor.

Fujifilm Finepix F80EXR video 720p HD quality seems to be fitted to this camera for feature completion only, since their recording is not that impressing. But since I rarely use this feature and their still images quality is pretty good, I can forgive this weak points. To conclude in our F80EXR review, this camera is quite good, but the menu controls needs serious improvement to make it par with Canon and Nikon.
