SD850 IS Opticals
You could count on this SD850 Digital Elph camera to get great picture. It have 8 megapixels CCD to get more details in your picture even for big prints. This camera also equipped with 4x Optical Zoom from Canon’s exclusive UA Lens. The lens have ultra high refractive index glass to enhance your picture even with a reduced total lens size. For a dimension that was not to different from Canon Powershot SD40 that only gives you 2.4x optical zoom, this SD850 camera has a significant improvement in optical zoom development.
Shaky hands could ruin your captured moments, but this camera has Optical Image Stabilization technology embedded into it. This feature greatly reduced blurs caused by hand shakes when you push the capture button. But keep in mind that this feature doesn’t work on your objects movement. This camera feature is effective with or without flash, and even in a zoomed shots.

SD850 IS Image Processing
Canon DIGIC III image processor is powering SD850 IS, giving you superior quality images and battery efficiency. With a DIGIC III around, you could also have powerful features like Red Eye Correction and Face Detection Technology in this compact camera, 2 features that would make the faces in your image looking bright and natural without any scary red eyes :D

More SD850 Features
SD850 has sensitivity range expanded up to ISO 1600. But do note that as many other compact camera, it will give you noises starting at ISO 200 settings. I would recommend using ISO 80 or ISO 100 instead.
The Movie Mode was pretty flexible too. With SD850, you could select from VGA (640 x 480 pixels) and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), with frame rates of 30 fps and 15 fps for recording up to 1 hour or 4GB. Also choose from Fast Frame Rate (QVGA; 320 x 240 pixels) recording at 60 fps for up to 1 minute, Compact Movie Mode (QQVGA; 160 x 120 pixels) recording at 15 fps for up to 3 minutes, and Time Lapse (640 x 480) recording at 1 or 2 sec. intervals

For playbacks and preview, this camera provides 2.5″ LCD screen. The screen was extra durable and have scratch resistant coating on the anti reflective coats. It also has high resolution and PureColor LCD technology that offers a crisp and picture when used. You could also use the viewfinder when you take your shot without using the screen. This was a feature that rarely found in a stylish camera.
