Canon Powershot SD4000 Stylish Camera with some S90 feature

The success of Canon Powershot S90 in the market as bestbuy camera really made me love Canon even more. Unfortunately, S90 is rather expensive and seems like targeting at prosumer photographers. But to hear about Canon SD4000 IS bringing some of S90 feature with them, especially the f2.0 lens that would make SD4000 looked like a smart stylish Canon camera with some professional lens capability.

Canon SD4000 IS review

Canon Powershot SD4000 feature a high speed illuminated CMOS sensor with the size of 1/2.3 inch. This 10 megapixels Canon camera have high speed performance in burst mode that reach 8.4 fps, high speed movie capture, slow motion capture and few improvement in low light photo department. SD4000 give us 4x Optical Zoom and adds HS System brand that consist of high sensitivity sensor and DIGiC 4 image processor that claimed to improve image quality.

SD4000 IS also became the first Digital Elph series having Aperture and Shutter priority mode, even though they didn’t give us manual option, control ring, RAW modes that exist in S90. For exchange, Powershot SD4000’s video recording capability features a 720p HD movie capture that I rarely use with my digital camera. You can playback your shots and videos in their 3.0 inch preview LCD screen or your HDTV sistem via its mini-HDMI port.

Other feature like fisheye, miniature and low light effect can also be found in this camera. As a fancy camera, Canon SD4000IS will be available in 3 colors (red, black and silver). SD4000 IS price sold at $350 and now available for preorder. Judging from the price, some might question why SD4000 price is higher than Canon SD3500 IS that have higher 14 megapixels and bigger 3.5 LCD touch screen. My opinion is that these camera aim at different segment, SD4000 for the user that hope a better image quality in their pocket camera, and SD3500 for users that see more in a user friendly camera. So, what will you choose readers? :)
