A casual photographers that like to have a slim camera with a touch screen shouldn’t miss this Canon SD3500 IS review because this baby might have your eyes on it. This 14 megapixels compact touch screen camera would make those who have gotten used to their smartphone interface a breeze since SD3500’s screen is pretty responsive and easy to use.

Canon SD3500 Review

The main highlights in Powershot SD3500 were their 3.5 inch Touch Screen Pure Color LDC System, combining the wide area and functional control taking advantage of the touch interface. The image below might get you some idea what you can do with this touch screen camera. Canon SD3500 ultra wide lens (24mm) also one of my favorite feature in this camera, it really cover the space without moving too much to the back to get the scene I want. This slim compact camera also have a HDMI port to view your shots and 720p HD video recording on your supported TV.

SD3500 IS Specification User Test

For your everyday photo shoot needs, this 5x Optical zoom camera also have some pretty fascinating intelligence features that I won’t miss in this Canon Powershot review.

First of all, SD3500 already have the Smart Auto Shutter that should take the shot when someone wink or smile. Unfortunately, in my various experiments, this feature didn’t always detect winks correctly that made me feel stupid winking on the camera sometime.

The Fish eye effect on SD3500IS really save me some Photoshop time when I’d like my images gets fisheyed. This feature effect can be set to small, large and shoot away. Pretty functional for me. The Touch AF features also help me a lot on choosing where I want to focus my shot on the scene precisely.

Eventhough SD3500’s specification I stated above seems pretty tempting, there are some weakness on SD3500 I want to point out in this Canon review. First, the Low Light Feature that result in noisy pictures in smaller resolution that is not too functional for me. This Canon camera continuous shooting mode also made the saving process into your data storage perform slowly. This is maybe caused by the big 14.1 megapixels multiple data that need to be saved and made the camera lags. But other than this, I can say I’m pretty fond of this Canon Powershot SD3500 priced at $300. Of course, if you love telephoto more than just taking a picture for fun, waiting for the upcoming Canon Powershot S210 IS with longer zoom will be a wiser choice.
