September 21st, 2009 | by CameraBang |

Canon Powershot S90 is one of the latest most promising compact camera from Canon released this Falls. Bringing a 10 megapixels sensor that claimed to have high sensitivity. It’s 28-105mm F2.0-4.9 lens that supports 3.8x optical zoom maybe not as powerful as Canon SX20 IS 20x zoom, however Canon S90 adds a very valuable features to make up for that, like the control ring that can enables some control of camera settings (i.e exposure compensation), and RAW shooting capability that rarely found on many compact cameras. Having all that wonderful features make us excited to read the reviews right. Now let’s get started on this S90 review.

Functional Control Ring Innovation

We should really thank Canon for adding this Control Ring in Powershot S90. With that, photographers can control some user-selectable parameters to deliver best performance in our shots. This ring can control shutter speed, white balance, Exposure compensation, ISO levels, zooming and manual focusing. It was very functional, creativity invoking and enhancing the photography experience using S90 camera.

Good Sensor Sensitivity and Noise Handling

When they claimed that Canon S90 sports a high sensitivity, Canon wasn’t bluffing at all. This compact camera works well in low light shooting conditions, and the Dual Anti Noise System really do their job on reducing unwanted noises from your photo shots.

Canon S90 enable RAW Feature

Yup, when it goes down to RAW shooting capability, S90 and G11 were going to make this feature their trump to reign in the functional compact camera class. If they allow this powershot camera have enhancement like additional speed light, it would be perfect. Unfortunately, Canon already let G11 to take the chance so, we must be happy with what S90 can offer us right now :)
